Cuetzpalin, meaning ‘lizard’, is the day in the Aztec calendar associated with the god Huehuecoyotl. Huehuecoyotl is a trickster god, known sometimes as the Old Coyote. He is the god of reversals and cruel pranks, but also storytelling, music and dancing. The day of Cuetzpalin is associated with changing luck.
